Almost a month ago, I wrote about my cat. He'd been suffering from his illness for two months. You can read Part 1 here. Since he got sick, I took him to the vet almost every day. His pancreases gradually improved, but he ate less and less. His vet took echos to check his intestines and said his intestines weren't moving at all. That was the reason he didn't eat. He used to be a chubby cat (6.3 kilograms), but he had become very thin. He had lost lots of weight and was then 3.4 kilograms. I was truly worried about him.
He finally stopped eating and hadn't eaten anything for five days. His vet suggested us a surgery. The vet explained he might have a cancer.
On my husband's birthday, he underwent the surgery. I was so worried that I couldn't celebrate my husband's birthday at all. In Japan, some veterinary clinics allow owners to observe their pets operations. I was too scared to watch it, so I refused it, but my husband did it instead. The vet explained him about our cat's condition. According to my husband, his organs looked very clean and nothing seemed wrong. Even so, there was a tiny red spot on his intestines and a part of his lymph node was a bit swollen. The vet also massaged our cat's intestines to move, removed the red spot and took cell samples from his lymph node. He sent those to a lab. He explained our cat might get lymphoma.
Poor Jiji (our cat's name) had to wear an E color for ten days to avoid licking the incision. It caused him more stress, but he finally started eating again! He also pooped as well. This was a wonderful sign that his intestines finally started moving again.
Today, I took him back to the vet to have the stitches removed. We received the result from the lab as well. There was no cancer and no lymphoma! I'm extremely happy for him! He had a terrible infection, which caused enteritis and pancreatitis. That's it.
Now, we don't need to worry anything. Jiji is still recovering, but I believe that he'll get much better very soon!
