Today Lang-8 is shutting down, so I'm migrating to Journaly. Someone suggested me this website yesterday on Lang-8. But I'm still trying to figure it out how to make corrections here and there aren't any instructions how to do it anywhere here. I find its visual appealing. I hope I'm going to stick around here

Hi Queila, Settings has tuturials for how to use Journaly.
Hello Queila, I too am new to Journaly but I already find it quite nice. Since you are using it for English I think you will find it easy to get a lot of feedback on your writing. It is very easy to use and I think you will quickly get the hang of it. Have fun!
I second all those comments. I found the tutorials helpful but only discovered recently that when viewing the feed there are very helpful settings in Advanced options.
I just found some tutorials videos. Thank you all!
@QueilaCaulfield,
Welcome to Journaly!
Welcome to Journaly!
If Lang-8 had so many users, why on earth is it shutting down? The owners had basically a gold mine and instead of profiting from it it they're closing it down.
Welcome to Journaly @QueilaCaulfield ! I'm Robin, the creator of the platform :) I'm so glad you're here and I'm very happy to read that you find it visually appealing. As some have mentioned, there is a page with tutorials on the basic functionality of the platform here: https://journaly.com/settings/tutorials
In the next few months, I'm planning on REALLY improving the onboarding experience, with some nice interactive tutorials when you first sign up, as well as re-recording all the tutorials with some new ones that cover all the new features we've built.
For now, please feel free to email hello@journaly.com if you have any problems. And as you have seen, we have a really wonderful and supportive community who are always happy to help you here on the website.
Happy Journaling and welcome again! ☀️
@Simone- I am not 100% familiar with the situation so some of this is just my best guess as someone who builds and maintains a software platform. But I believe Lang-8 stopped accepting new users quite a few years ago, and had not done active development on the platform for many years. So if I understand correctly, they have been making a lot of profit for a lot of years without working on the platform much or at all.
But with software platforms, they require maintenance. As one example, over time, security vulnerabilities arise and you have to update things to keep your users safe. For Journaly I have to set aside many weeks each year just for this purpose. This is my speculation, but I imagine that is why they shut down the platform behind the scenes. If you spend years taking money from users without maintaining the software, eventually things will stop working, and in the worst case scenario, the users could be at risk.
But like I said, that's just my guess. This isn't intended to be a negative comment about Lang-8 or the creators, just trying to explain what might have happened based on my understanding/observations from afar.
I think they also wanted to develop hinative which is a different kind of language learning site that didn’t appeal to all users.
@robin First of all, let me say thank you for all your work on Journaly👏. As for Lang-8, what you said makes perfect sense.
@MusiqueGraeme Hinative doesn't appeal to me either.
