When you start your day, do you listen to music? Yes, I do. If so, what kind of music do you listen to? I like listening to soft, gentle music when I start my day. I especially love listening to Claude Debussy. He's considered one of the composers of musical impressionism. His music sounds very smooth and soft. It goes perfectly with the soft morning light, and it makes me feel like I can start my day slowly and peacefully. It reminds me that I don't need to rush and helps me feel calm.
I started learning classical piano when I was five. I quit learning it at the age of 23 because I got married and had to move to a new place. I couldn't take my piano with me. I used to play Arabesque No.1., and maybe that's why I love listening to his music in the morning. It makes me feel nostalgic and takes me back to that time in my life.
If you like starting your day slowly, I think you'll enjoy listening to his music. Enjoy!

Wow, almost no mistakes! Excellent post 👍🏼🤩
Excellent post! I don’t listen to music when I start my day, but I do when I’m in my art studio and need some inspiration. I like Motown artists like The Temptations, Gladys Knight, and Marvin Gaye, especially his "Let’s Get It On". Luther Vandross’s “A House Is Not a Home” and “Dance With My Father” can bring me to tears, as well as Boyz II Men’s “It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday”. Paradoxically, these songs soothe me.
@CocoPop Thank you as always!
@SEQ77 Thank you for the comment. My husband is a huge fan of Motown. I'm a big fan of Gladys Knight. I especially love "Midnight Train to Georgia".
I once visited the Motown Recording Studio with my American friends. I tried to find the post relate to it on my old blog, but it seemed like I didn't write about it. It was fascinating to look around such a small studio and listen to stories about Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Michelle Jackson, Stephen Wonder and more. We saw Michelle's jacket and hat showcased as well.
I am fond of classical music and baroque music seems like a great way to start the day. Impressionistic music is also nice!
@T-Newfields I love classical music as well. I'm a big fan of baroque music too, and I agree. It's great to start the day.
I'm not really a morning person, so my morning is usually just spent getting up and rushing off to work. But on the weekends I like to have a more relaxing start to my day. I tend to reach for a book though (or my phone, which isn't as satisfying when I do that, but I still do) rather than listen to music in the mornings. I usually prefer to play music when I'm cooking or cleaning the house. :) Lately I've been putting on my playlist of French songs I've found, but sometimes I put other ones on instead.
@Shauna I think we all love music. I've never met someone who doesn't like music. Thank you for sharing!
