My sister is going to have a lumpectomy soon. I don't know whether this is the right word in English for removing non-cancerous lumps! Actually, I'm not sure either what she's going to remove is called lumps in English!
The doctor told her what she has "is loufah" in Arabic. Honestly, I have no idea what a loufah is. I know the loufah I use during shower to scrub my body, but I never knew we could have loufah in our bodies (or breasts). I looked it up, and I couldn't find any information. There's a lack of validated medical and scientific data in Arabic on the internet.
The surgery was supposed to be today. I booked a train tonight, thinking I'd stay with my niece and nephew during the daytime and take the train by night. However, it got postponed. I might not be around with her or with the kids when she has it done. It will be scheduled in a couple of days.
I have an aunt who died of breast cancer. She was two years younger than my mother. She was also under 60 when she left us. Another aunt has surgery to remove some lumps. At any point, I might have to have mammograms done. I have noticed that my period has become shorter and the bleeding is much lighter. I don't know whether it's a sign of an early perimenopause or something else happening in my body!

I'm hoping the best for your sister.
Thank you! I hope so too!
From my limited experience - a wife who had a lumpectomy and two mastectomies, breast cancer comes in many shapes and sizes and even the maligent kind doesn't always have the same outcome. I pray that your sister gets good treatment and has a long life.
Is it your experience with your wife? I pray for my sister, too! Thank you and I hope your wife is fine!
Yes, and she's fine now, except for struggles with the medication she has to keep taking!
