This post is a sequel to the previous entry. This June, my seven knitting friends and I decided to knit the exact same vest design. We'll meet up again in December and hold a little party to show our finished vests. Since then, I've been worked on mine, and I finally completed it recently. It was so much fun to knit, and I really enjoyed the whole process.
One special technique I needed was steeking. I've knitted several Fair Isle garments before with the proper yarn for the technique, so I'd done steeking in the past. However, this was my first time using much thicker yarn, so I was nervous about cutting it .
The picture below shows the steek stitches.
First, I reinforced the area by crocheting along the cutting line with yellow yarn. This helps prevent the fabric from unraveling.
Then, I cut down the center of the steek. It was fascinating to learn that I can create complex patterns with any kind of yarn using this methods.
After cutting, I folded the each edge inward and secured them neatly.
I sawed on three buttons, and it was finished!
Now, I've already started working on a vest for my husband.

Thank you as always for reading, correcting and commenting.
I sometimes wish that it was possible to correct the title... Handknitted has two ts.
two Ts and a hyphen: Hand-Knitted
@MusiqueGraeme and @CocoPop Thank you for letting me know my mistake for the title!
You're welcome! But you also need to capitalize Knitted.
@CocoPop Thank you!
