English
I'm going back to learning French. I've been toying with this idea for a few years, and I've finally made my decision. I haven't used the language since I was about four feet tall, except for a couple of trips to Francophone countries.
I sense it's going to be painful. I'm juggling three languages these days, not very successfully, so taking on an L4 feels daunting. But what I fear most is that my English will shrink like a wool sweater in a tumble dryer.
My rule of thumb for learning languages is "Have fun!", so I started by watching a few episodes of Peppa Pig. That's all I can aspire to for now. I'm optimistic, though. It might sound stupid but this peculiar family makes me laugh.

if you are native in spanish, it'll be really easy for you because i know french and i can understand spanish too! english and spanish will make it easier to learn. just try to listen french music and watch french movies/series every day. hearing the language everyday will make you learn it unintentionally lol.
Good luck on your French! I'm on the same boat. I'm also scared my English will shrink when I study Italian seriously.
Wish the best on your journey of learning French. C'est une langue magnifique !
@alinda Learning French is not what worries me. After watching some videos in French (as you wisely recommended), my brain has started to recognize and retrieve basic expressions. What really feels like a challenge for me is switching between languages when I speak. Every time I try to speak in French, English takes over. I guess that’s the price I have to pay for having been in “immersion mode” for years. Thanks for your comment. :)
@yumiyumayume. Thank you! We've both worked hard on our English, so I feel your pain.
@T-Newfields Thank you! Oh yes. French is great. Did you know that the language we speak can shape our faces? Hope Cyrano de Bergerac was the exception. :D
@Coral I'm the same way. Once I try to speak something in Italian, my English intrude because my English is much better than my Italian. I so depend on English.
I also watch peppa pig in Spanish ajjajajajaja
jajaja "oink, oink" is the same in every language.
