Do you like reading book? If so, which do you prefer reading on a kindle or reading physical books?
I prefer reading on a kindle, especially in English, because it's easy for me to look up unfamiliar words. Except that, I can take it anywhere I go. It doesn't need any spaces unlike physical books, and e-books are usually much cheaper. There are so many reasons why I prefer it.
Last week, I found a great deal for a kindle during the Amazon prime sale. So, I bought a new one for the first time in seven years. Today, I received my order. When I opened the package, I was thrilled.
I chose a matcha colored one. For some reason, it feels lighter than the black one, even though that's probably an illusion.
Compared to my previous black kindle, the new one is slightly smaller and lighter. I gave my old one to my husband, even though he wasn't interested in the gadget at all. I hope he'll enjoy reading e-books as well.

Nice! I got my first kindle about 12 years ago and the first thing I did was read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I devoured it. I ended reading all three books in the series in quick succession. I just couldn't get over the fact that I could take it anywhere, whip it out and start reading, and it would remember where I left off. And using it to read in foreign languages is a dream. Like you said, you can look up words and highlight text and add notes, which is indispensable for a language learner. Maybe I should look into updating mine too. Enjoy your new Kindle! I love the matcha btw.
Thank you for reading, correcting and commenting! The book, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is on my list! I bought the e-book long time ago but haven't read it yet. The book sounds very interesting. Thank you for sharing!
Check out the Amazon Prime sale! It sometime has a wonderful deal for kindles.
We have two options: black or matcha for kindles on Amazon Japan.
Looks nice! I love the matcha color. I have a tablet for reading manga, which is especially good because then I can buy all the volumes without needing to buy another bookshelf as well :)
@Ersatzjello Manga needs a lot of spaces, so that's great! I should share this with my husband. Thank you for sharing!
lol confession time: I'm still using the Kindle I got about 15 years ago. It still works, but there are a few "ink splots" on the screen now (they're tiny though, so they don't really bother me). It probably also doesn't have a lot of the functionality that newer ones have. But mine has the keyboard, which I really liked having. :)
I will go back and forth, reading on my Kindle or reading paper books. I usually look at what's cheaper (sometimes surprisingly it's not the ebooks). But I absolutely love it for traveling! I remember when I was younger, I would pack a ton of books, but now I can just take my Kindle with me. :)
@Shauna Your kindle sounds very cool! I've never seen such a kindle. I bought a lot of second-hand books from church sales, garage sales and estate sales in the States while I'd been learning porcelain paintings. So, I still have tons of actual books too. Same here. Kindle is great when we travel.
These days, even holding a book feels like a "premium" experience. I prefer reading on my Kindle, but there's just something about books that hits differently.
@Simone- haha, your comment brought a laughter, and I totally agree. It's very convenient but it's something different.
