Last week I found this dog you can see in the picture above. She was in so bad a shape that when my dog turned aside to smell something, I thought the thing was a dead cat, but then I noticed it was this particular dog I knew from our usual walk. She is a Cocker or a half-breed with the looks of a Cocker.

At first, when we first saw her, she was in a house with cats, but this house is empty now, and I think her owner must have abandoned her when he left. Most probably is she got hit by a car, although the street close to the place she was lying has little or no traffic.

Upon examination, the vet said she has a broken rib, but the legs didn't seem to have lost sensitivity, which is good. However, later on, back at home, I noticed she (I will call her Cami from now on) could hardly walk, her hind legs being almost useless. When I called the vet to tell her, she send me an order to take x-rays and see if there's a backbone or pelvis fractured. So, we are waiting for Monday to arrive and know for sure what's the matter with her legs. Meanwhile, she doesn't eat—I'm sticking my finger with yogurt or honey on her gums just to give her a minimal nourishment, but fortunately she drinks lots of water. She has a livelier stance now and then, but the problem with her back has me concerned.

Well, we'll see. Send good vibes to Cami. She needs them.
