We want you.
Hey everyone, let's wish Uly and Yumi's daughter a happy (belated) birthday. Let's do it in the comments section of this post ( https://journaly.com/post/40469 ), where Robin, the founder of Journaly, will also be joining our little party. I'll bring the ProseccoπΎ. Who's bringing the pizza π?
If you don't know who Uly is, well, my friend, you're either living under a rock or you're new here. Even if you don't know him, you can be sure that your English or Spanish has improved by osmosis. So yeah, let's say thank you to our greatest multilingual editorππ. Robin, we're all blessed. Don't you think so too?
If you don't know who Yumi is, well, my friend, shame on you. Yumi is like the sweetest Japanese woman, but if you make her angry, she'll judo the shit out of you. She's also a porcelain artist, which I also think is cool. Don't you agree?
Don't worry if you don't know who I am; that doesn't matter.
I'm sure we all miss Robin. What better way to welcome him back than to throw a party on Journaly for two of our best users? πππ
Wow, Simo!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for the party. It's fantastic! I'll bring my homemade sushi and a whole cake for everyone. I'm kind of a newbie here and I don't think I've met Robin. I hope he'll show up your amazing party. My daughter will love this party.
Robin's YouTube channel hasn't been updated in over a half-year, so I joined his Patreon community to get his updates. He seemed to be happy and still very busy.
As a web engineer, I understand how difficult it is to create and maintain this type of service. Journaly stands out not only for its technical aspects, but also for its ideas and philosophy.
Love and gratitude from all of us, @robin !
Yumi, of course he will show up. Why wouldn't he?
On second thought, you've never met Robin? Well, me neither, Yumi. Me neither.
If you have a problem or need to contact Robin, you can reach out to our admin Linda @LindasLinguas and she'll be more than happy to forward your messages back and forth. Unfortunately, Linda isn't always on Journaly either. But that's why we have a lovely community ready to help you out. After all, look at this massive outpouring of support and love for Uly.
Anyway, this is @robin. Hi, Robin. Come and say hello to our lovely Yumi; it was her daughter's birthday a few days ago.
Indeedπ, Akiko. You can say that out loud: its ideas and philosophy.
I second Akiko: Love and gratitude from all of us, @robin !
Hello all, and thank you infinitely for the ongoing birthday celebration. Yumi, Happy Birthday to you Musume-san β may she live long and prosper!
Our @robin is a busy man, but I know for a fact that he loves to see his beautiful community come together like this to celebrate the wonderful, colorful and eclectic language playground that is Journaly. I, for one, am honored to know all of you and am humbled to have been able to improve your English/Spanish even a little. So here's to Robin and Journaly and all of you! π₯
@Simone- Thank you for your kind words β I feel humbled and privileged to be a part of this rich universe of diverse tongues, nationalities, cultures and ideas. The beautiful thing about Journaly is that one day you're just writing about your day or a problem or a doubt, and the next day, you turn around and you have "friends" ( @BalaGi π) from all the corners of the world, who you talk to almost on a daily basis and have the opportunity to enrich with something that's second nature to you: your mother tongue, as well as your unique perspective and moral support when it's needed. That's the beauty of Journaly. Sure, you can talk to people on Facebook, but is it as constructive as what we offer here? The struggle to use and check your target language can be a real problem. It's not easy to find people to talk to and practice with unless you're willing to shell out good money on iTalki, etc., let alone expect people to correct your mistakes, which is considered impolite in a lot of people's eyes. Here's that "impoliteness" is welcome and valued and everyone comes out winning.
@LindasLinguas likes to tell the story of how we met here through an innocent misunderstanding that blossomed into an online friendship of sorts both on Journaly and beyond. The same with you, Simo, who I enjoy hearing from outside of Journaly almost on a daily basis. So once again, thank you all for your well-wishes. I'm happy to know all of you π
Uly, what a beautiful message! I'm so impressed by what you are writing here. I totally agree, and thank you for the birthday wishes to my daughter. Same here, and happy belated birthday to you too. Simo, I'm so happy and glad to meet you here. We are online friends, but I feel more than that.
