Today, I'm going to write about podcasts, which is one of my hobbies.
In Japan, listening to podcasts isn't so popular. When I have to explain podcasts, I always say on-demand radios. Whenever you'd like to listen to the radio or something, you could run a podcast app and listen to it anywhere. It's very cool for a person like me who loves learning something or gaining information.
My favorite podcasts are Rebuild.fm and Culips.
I've listened to every episode on Rebuild.fm for five years. The host is Miyagawa, who is Japanese and works at Fastly in the US, and talks with a guest about some technical news and events and how they're doing recently. It's not only valuable but also empowering. I listen to how he and the guest think, what they've done these days and what they're going to do, and then I think I can go further and achieve bigger things.
On the flip side, Culips is completely for the purpose of learning English. I listen to it in my commute every workday, and I guess it's cut for learning. Their talk is easy to understand and includes some unknown phrases for me, and the transcripts are prepared. It's a good resource to practice my English skills.
By the way, I was surprised that there is a podcast tag in Jounaly. I wonder if listening to podcasts is one of the major hobbies around the world.
If you have any favorite podcasts, could you tell me?
