This is a sequel to my previous post.

In Japan, last week was Obon week. During obon, my husband, our daughter and her family, and I went to Nara. Ever since I visited a farm, I had wanted to take our grandson there. We enjoyed lunch at our favorite restaurant before visiting the farm.

For some reason, malatang, a spicy Chinese hot pot dish has been very popular in Japan over the past couple years. There are lots of restaurants specializing in malatang here and there, and our city also have several such restaurants. Even so, I'd never tried it before, and this was my first time. The picture below shows the malatang. It was certainly spicy but very tasty.

After lunch, we decided to walk to the farm. On the way, we saw several wild deer eating flowers in a neighbor's flowerpot.

We also saw an other wild deer eating grass in a different neighbor's yard. I love visiting Nara, but I don't like they eat plants in my garden, so I thought I can't live there. However, our grandson was so excited when he saw them.

This time we all ordered soft-serve ice cream made with fresh the farm cow''s milk, which was delicious.

I was very curious how our grandson would react when he saw cows for the first time. This is his reaction that I took. I think he was thinking, "Oh, wow...."
