Can you picture an apple in your mind right now? What does it look like? This simple question is often used as a test for aphantasia.
I learned about this test from my long-time American friend, Matt. He asked me to picture an apple in my mind. I imaged a very vivid, realistic green apple and described it to him. He told me that individual imagination level is different. Some people image very vivid while the others can't image at all. Most people are somewhere in between.
In my case I'm closer to hyperphantasia, which is opposite of aphantasia. As a painter, I've spent years carefully observing objects and studying their details. I need to remember how the objects look like before painting them. That's why I can visualize an apple so clearly. I think it's always fun to learn more about how our minds work and how different we can be from one another.
If you're interested, you can learn more about aphantasia here. You can watch a video about it here as well.

Yumi, your writing was quite sophisticated in this post. Great job!
Thank you so much. I'm very flattered.
I imagined a vivid red apple with orange speckles at the top.
