I attended one of my favorite artists, Edward Gorey's art exhibit a couple of weeks ago. It's my first time seeing his pieces in two years since I visited his exhibit in Nara. Unfortunately, photography wasn't allowed there this time either, so I took some posters' photos. I hope you'll be able to guess what his art looked like.
Most of his art pieces are black and white, and he often drew my favorite period, the Victorian era. Although he published lots of books for children, some of them look creepy. Lots of his books have translated into Japanese because he has many Japanese fans.
This exhibit in Kyoto had displayed different pieces that I saw in Nara.
I bought two of his books in English, the catalog for this exhibit, and several postcards. I have a good idea to use these postcards. I'd love to frame them and hang them on my wall.
I watched this short video clip a couple years ago, and since then, visiting the Gorey's house has been on my bucket list.
