I've become a maverick language learner, just because. Or maybe it's because I'm fed up with hearing so much contradictory advice. Now I watch movies in Spanish with English subtitles, which I highly recommend trying at least once. I don't speak a single word of English when I come across a native speaker, I have them speak Spanglish, and I'm reading an English book that is way above my level. I'm doing really well –I mean, as a rebel. Oh, and I also stopped learning French. It seemed sensible to adopt my brand new iconoclast persona.

I broke the rules today. I shouldn't be writing, but if you think about it , it totally makes sense for an anarchist language learner like me to write in English when I'm not supposed to. I've also unsubscribed from the tons of YouTube channels I used to follow. I couldn't take one more "Tai chi walking" ad. I sleep a whole lot better now.
