A couple of weeks ago, I had lunch with a friend of mine. We went to a restaurant that offers steamed dishes. Do you know that seamed dishes are healthier than many other cooking methods? It's lower in calories because it doesn't use any cooking oil. Steaming also helps retain nutrition by using no water, so they can keep water-soluble vitamins too.
Deep-fried skewers are called kushikatsu (串カツ) in Japanese, which is Osaka's local food. There was a wide variety of options such as vegetables, seafood, meats, mushrooms, eggs, and more. We chose pork, egg, onion, and pumpkin. In Osaka, you can easily find restaurants that serve these deep-friend skewers.
While eating the fries, the steam dishes became ready to eat.
Since we wanted to keep talking, we went to a cafe for coffee and ordered a waffle plate.
We really enjoyed both the lunch and our conversation together!
