I didn't know what to share this week so why not speak about some K-dramas I watched the past few years and liked. I used to watch them on Viki. It's similar to Netflix but more focused on Asian series, movies and TV shows. Some have the first episodes available for free and then we must be a subscriber.
The first K-drama I want to share is Today's Webtoon. I really liked this one. I found the main character really likeable. She is always motivating and supportive. She has been a judoka* and has to find her first job unrelated to sport because of an injury. She will work for a Webtoon company where she is trying to fit in and adapt as it's really different from her previous experience. If you like Webtoon**, you will probably enjoy it.
The main character (called Ma-eum) is the singer Kim Se-jeong.
The next K-drama I also really liked is Tell Me What You Saw. It's the story of a genius profiler who solved many cases. His fiancée was killed by a serial killer and since then he has isolated himself. A few years later, a new murder happens with the same method. A new young detective with a special ability will be recruited.
I really liked the profiler character who is mysterious but definitively qualified. At first, we can see him as a rude or closed person but he will help the new recruit. I like the first meet scene between the profiler and the young detective. There are also action combat scenes for people who like that :)
Actor Jang Hyuk who played the detective, is really popular and known for action scenes, he did martial arts.
The last one I want to share today is Doctor John. The nickname of the main character is "10 seconds" because he can diagnose patients quickly. This doctor spent time in prison and then become a professor in a hospital. This kdrama raises the question of euthanasia. Should doctors save lives no matter what? What to do when the patient suffers too much?
Here are the 3 K-dramas, so do you like watching K-dramas? What is your favorite? Who is your favorite actor? What is your favorite OST***?
* A judoka is a person who practices Judo.
** A Webtoon is a digital comic from South Korea.
*** means Original Soundtrack, referring to music composed for a movie, TV show or anime.
All three of these shows sound really interesting! Thank you for the recommendations. I don't watch many K-dramas myself because I have so many things I still need to catch up on watching, but there are a lot that sound super cool!
Excellent post and English! However, in parts, it would've been a bit mysterious for those who aren't familiar with Korean drama. It's a good idea to define some of the terms that everyone may not know.
Thank you for the corrections @Eeveecat1248 and @CocoPop. I will remember to explain the terms.
I would italicizes the names of the TV shows.
