When I was young, it was common for singers to perform other artists' hit songs. For example, Whitney Huston sang I Will Always Love You, which was originally written and performed by Dolly Parton. Whitney rearranged Dolly's country version into a more R&B style, and it became a huge hit.
You can listen to Whitney's version and Dolly's version and compare them. I love country music but for this song, I definitely prefer Whitney's one. Her powerful voice is amazing.
Artists still do cover songs today, but now we can even find AI versions on YouTube. The other day when I chatted with my Texan friend, he shared really interesting music videos with me, so I'd like to share them here as well.
Do you like Oasis? They are a British band, and I used to be a big fan of them. One of their greatest hits is Wonderwall. AI created various different versions of this song: a Japanese enka (Japanese traditional balladic song) style version, a 60’s Motown Blues & Soul version, a 80s Glam Metal version, and a classicical version. When you click the blue word "version", you can listen to each one.
The enka version was pretty funny for me and it made me laugh, but except that, others sound pretty good. Each one captures its own musical style very well, and I was genuinely impressed. I like the blues version the best, but I like the metal version too because I'm a fan of metal music as well.
Watching these made me realize that we can now rearrange songs however we want without needing any musicians. What do you think? Which version do you like the most?

This is definitely a hot topic. Modern pop music is just pure garbage. My point is that most of contemporary pop singers lack personality and creativity. In a way, one can draw many parallels with AI.
However, I think AI could be useful for therapeutic music.
I like the soul version the best; I think it really got the style right, even though it's weird in some places. The classical version is not classical at all. I really really didn't like it. My favourite version of Wonderwall is this joke version by internet legend Niel Cicierega https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yQFebRcznA
@Simone- I understand your point. I agree that recent pop music sound quite similar and I don't listen to them like I used to. I didn't know that the AI version of therapeutic music. Thank you for sharing. I'll listen to it.
@schmamie Thank you for correcting and commenting. Thank you for the link. I listened to it, and it sounded interesting.
