Movement

Today I woke up early. I was lying in my bed when negative thoughts started cycling in my head. In order not to get depressed at the start of my day, my father and I went for a walk that was combined with running. We run approximately 2 kilometres and walked about 3 kilometres. That's not so much, but it was enough for me in order to start to feel better. Suddenly, hopelessness and negativity almost disappeared, and instead I started feeling more optimistic about my future plans and life in general. I always amazed by the fact how my state of mind and attitude to life changes after exercising or going for a walk. My father told me that philosopher Nietzsche said in one of his books that nothing can be better than a walk in order to heal a headache. Of course, he also spoke metaphorically about problems in this quote, but walking heals of course headache too. I am grateful that I found in movement a powerful tool that keeps me sane and optimistic even during hard times.
