Today's post is sponsored by my grandmother. Thanks, Grandma! Poor thing, she's trying to help me find my groove and is always telling me “If you don't get readers, I'll smack you where your back loses its chaste name! Am I clear?"
Speaking of grandmothers, have you ever bought something on Amazon and had to return it? I bet you have.
Let's say you're a handsome guy, but you want to look even more handsome. You look at yourself in the mirror and think, "This body deserves a Ralph Lauren shirt". You go on Amazon and get yourself one.
Two days (or so) later, the Amazon courier rings your doorbell. You open the door and there they are, flashing you a smile and handing you the package. It happens to be a Saturday, you have plans with friends, and you want to look dressed to kill. You unpack the shirt, you know, take out all the pins, pieces of plastic, cardboards, clips, unbutton it, etc., and when you're done (one hour later) you try the shirt on. But silly you, you got the wrong size! You look like a sack of potatoes! Do you fold Ralphy back and put all those annoying pieces back in? Nooooo. You make a bundle, put it back in the bag and go on Amazon to return it. If you're wondering where the shirt goes, I'll tell you.
Amazon deals with a staggering number of returns. Most of these goods/items are poorly packaged, damaged or in need of repair, so what do they do with all of them? They sell them off in lots/batches through intermediary companies who, in turn, auction them off to outlets — this saves them a looot of money. Smart, right?
So now, your Ralph Lauren shirt is sadly lying around in an outlet, waiting for someone to take it home. Poor Ralphy.
Your grandma sounds like a feisty lady indeed.
She's quite a character. :)
