I've always been reluctant to plant perennial species in my garden, but the more I experiment in it, the more perfect, balanced, and meaningful Nature seems to me.
Nature surprised me yet again today: I got my first batch of compost — that black gold of the garden that smells like the forest.
That's how wild plants and trees nurture themselves: every leaf, flower, broken branch, and fallen fruit is reused by mixing with rainwater, air, and the invaluable help of the little creatures that dwell there.
Thank you, Nature. You're the perfect example to follow.

Glad your composting is going smoothly. I compost many things in my small garden in Shizuoka in central Japan.
