Ever played Persona? I'm playing Persona 5 right now. I also played it in 2017 when it came out, but never finished it.

人々の脳に入って不潔な念願を盗む心の怪盗団というティーンエイジャーのグループの物語。

The game is about a group of teenagers called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts who enter people's minds and steal their unpure desires.

ゲームの半分ぐらいに、怪盗団をハッカーに的にしている。双葉という人だけに救われられるんだ。

About halfway through the game, the Phantom Thieves are targeted by a hacker group. The only one who can help them is called Futaba.

ゲームはパレスというダンジョンに分かれている。最初の3箇所のパレスは犯罪者の心から作られるけど、双葉ちゃんは少女だけだ。

The game is split into dungeons called Palaces. The first three Palaces are created from the minds of criminals, but Futaba is just a girl.

彼女はひきこもりなので部屋が墓になる信心から、ピラミッドのようにパレスをして、その変になった想いは心の中に現れてる。

She's a hikikimori and believes that her room will be her tomb, so her Palace looks like a pyramid, and that distorted thought appears in her heart.

パレスのBGMは 「母のいた日々」という曲。双葉の母は研究者として無我夢中に仕事していたから、あんまり親切な母じゃなかった。でも双葉ちゃんを愛してた。

The theme song of the Palace is called The Days When My Mother Was There. Futaba's mother was obsessed with her work as a researcher, so she wasn't a very caring mother. But she still loved Futaba.

ある日、双葉の目の前に車の前に飛び出して命を絶ってしまった。あきらかに双葉ちゃんをトラウマにされて、部屋にカギをかけて出ていけなくなった。

One day, she kills herself by jumping in front of a car, right in front of Futaba's eyes. Obviously this traumatises Futaba, and she locks herself in her room, and becomes unable to leave.

曲は双葉が母といい思い出に戻りたい念願を指してる。ただし、社会に戻りたい憧れも指してると思う。

The song references Futaba's desire to go back to her good memories with her mother. But I feel this song represents her longing to live in society too.

プレイヤーは友だちと渋谷にいる時には「Tokyo Daylight」という曲が流れている。母のいた日々には当たり前引用されている。

The song that plays when you're in Shibuya with your friends is called Tokyo Daylight. It's clearly referenced in The Days My Mother Was There.

怪盗団はパレスに入ってその想いを盗んで、双葉ちゃんに憂うつも不安も回復して手伝ってあげる。私には大切なゲームの部分なのだ。数年前不安で強く悩んでいて、援助を聞けることに気づいたから。

The Phantom Thieves enter her Palace and steal her thoughts, helping her recover from her depression and anxiety. It's an important part of the game to me, because I suffered from severe anxiety some years ago, and I realised it's possible to ask for help.
