Farmer's Market in Kyoto

Do you like going to farmer's markets? I love going there because I can find something valuable. A couple days ago, I first went to a farmer's market in Kyoto which is the closest from my house. The farmer's market is much larger than the one in Nara. What I especially loved was that there was a section that selling plants.

Most of vegetables and fruits seemed to have been brought in the early morning. So, they must be very flesh. Flesh and cheap are the best for consumers.

I came across some fava beans. Since they looked very flesh and reasonable price, I bought some. I usually grill them, but this time I used them for a different way. I'll write about that soon.

I also spotted Chinese bellflower and parsley at great prices, so I bought those too.

I planted the Chinese bellflower in my garden.

I planted the parsley in a planter.

In just a few day, the seedling of Chinese bellflower has grown much larger and produced lots of buds. I've heard that the flowers bloom in the East Asia (China, Korea and Japan). In Japan, during the Manyo era (750 to 780), people already enjoyed seeing the lovely flowers. It's fascinating to think the way that I'm enjoying the same flowers people from more than 1000 years ago appreciated.
