I have been asking myself why I feel much more confident writing and using actively German rather than English and the answer that came to my mind is simple. I just write in German more. I think that's a time to change it and start writing in English on a regular basis. Sometimes I struggle to come up with ideas what to write about, but maybe writing about my day-to-day learning and sport routine can be a solution to this problem. Today I started my day with 15-minute exercise. That's not so long exercise session, but I just try to get back into exercising after having a cold. Sometimes I struggle to come into want-to-exercise mood, but remembering my favourite neuroscientist Wendy Suzuki and all the wonderful benefits of exercise that she talks about in her interviews helps me to motivate myself. Beside exercising I've also practiced my languages. When it comes to German, I started listening to a new podcast called “ tierisch!”. The podcast is about animals and I find it really captivating. I also listened to a podcast episode in English with the similar topic. It was interview of Richard Dawkins. I remember some interesting passages about animal behaviour. For example, some birds can fake the broken wing, in order to attract fox's attention and distract it from their nest. The fox starts following the bird and just at the moment of the attack the bird flies out saving her life and the life of her nestlings. The elephants were also seen to demonstrate the behaviour that resembles human moaning. They pay attention to the died elephants. So, I think, anything found in the animal world can be also found in the human world and vice versa. That's everything that I've done so far today. If I have time in the evening I want to have another 15-minute-exercise session and read something in English.
Great initiative! I love animals too, and those stories are fascinating. I can't wait to read more. Please let me know if you have any questions about my corrections.
Thanks a lot for your help!:)
