Weekend Ride and Hike

My legs are sore, but I’m feeling great! Today we went for a bike ride to a 300-meter-high hill. We've cycled to the top before, but this time, we decided to take the easiest route on foot. From our previous experience, we knew the climb would be tough by bike, so we decided on the easiest option today for a relaxing cherry blossom viewing.

Let me briefly describe my exercise outfit today - of course, for my English practice. I usually wear tight leggings, shorts, and a lightweight top that keeps me dry, but as it was a bit chilly today, I layered a warm top and a windproof jacket. I also brought a padded vest just in case the temperature dropped on the hill. And I was quite right - it was cold!

After parking our bikes near the trailhead, we popped into a shop to buy sandwiches and some high-calorie snacks like peanuts and chocolate. Essential items for activities in nature.

As we walked along the trail, we came across several people. They were all panting, some with beads of sweat on their foreheads. There were a few hard working people jogging up and down the trail. And I realised that I was wearing trail running shoes. From my outfit, I probably looked like I was there for a run… I wish I could run like them!

When we reached the top, we noticed that there were more visitors enjoying their time. Most of them were there by car. It is the easiest way! So, in fact, we chose the second easiest way.

The view was spectacular, even though it was a little hazy. The Seto Inland Sea is always beautiful, no matter the weather. The scenery is a big treat for those who make it to the top, whether they choose the hardest or easiest way.

While writing this, I completely forgot about my sore legs, thanks to this writing practice. But now, I’ve started to have a headache. I need a good night’s sleep!
