This is my first post here because It's too hard for me to write in my target language and don't know how to do it, I'm not used to it.
This is my first experience in a writing club as well.
I'm French and actually learning Korean.
Robin gave me motivation with his last video for the multilingual book club.
I have bought the French audio book and the Korean e-book. I did not find the Korean audio book which I'd love to have to help me improve my pronunciation.
I gave up many times when I was trying to read in Korean. So I hope this book will not be too hard to understand and pleasant enough to enjoy the learning process.
I think the book club will motivate us and help us reach our language-learning goals.
Has Anyone else bought the Korean version?

I Have started to read the book. (just one page at this time :'D )
How I'll proceed to read (since I've made some tests)
Versions :
Korean : E-book ( target language)
French : Audio book (native language)
My level :
Don't know but It's the first book I'll read in Korean ㅠㅠ
My goals :
Reading :
Improve my reading skills : Better, faster
Improve my pronunciation
Comprehension :
Improve my comprehension in context
Understand as much as possible even if it's not 100%
My process :
because I think I don't have the level to be able to understand maybe 50%,I will focus on having as much fun reading it as possible.
So, I'll do essentially extensive and repetitive reading.
I'll read it out loud and record it to track my improvement.
I'll use an app translator to help me check my pronunciation and or ask my Korean friend because i didn't find the audio book in Korean.
For the comprehension, I'll read it along with the audio book (don't know if it's the right way to say it) until I can clearly understand the sentences without the audio.
And I'll pick up useful structures or sentences to use them.

Hello Anna, I'm also learning Korean, but I think I'm not ready for reading a book like this. Up to now I've only read some graded readers (books with words explained). I'd love to read your comments on your reading journey of 바람의 그림자.

Erich, I'll be my first book in Korean, the sentences through my language exchange, and song lyrics, ahah ; so I'll see :-) I'm not sure yet how to approach the reading, I have a lot to learn in Korean as well and don't know yet if I can understand 50% but I'll try to comment my journey for sure 화이팅 !
I am reading it in French. I have read all the Harry Potter books in French already but no other ones. I can already read French pretty comfortably. I think it's a fun idea and an interesting book but I think it might be a little hard for a first book to read in a foreign language. When I read the first Harry Potter book I made a flashcard for any word I didn't know and before then I had already studied a lot, I had some basics and I had studied Barron's 500 Verbs extensively. I know they tell people not to do that but it worked for me. I still make flash cards for words I don't know in French and there were some pretty obscure words in the book. But on the other hand, the chapters are really short so it might not be too overwhelming. I am just saying that if it's too hard, you might try something simpler. Don't give up entirely!
