In my garden, I finally started harvesting blueberries! Woohoo!! I had been waiting for this moment since I noticed tiny fruit forming on two of my bushes. I believe that the most enjoyable part for gardeners is harvesting their products. It makes all our efforts worthwhile.
Gardening teaches me valuable lessons. For instance, I learned patience because it took me over three years to get fruit. I'm glad that I didn't give up on them. I also learned plants always respond me no matter what. Their vitality amazes me. Last year was extremely hot, and they nearly died. I was so worried about them and sought advice the person I bought them from. He gave me some useful tips, and I followed his instructions. Now, they are!
I can see some new shoots from them, and it makes me feel really happy. I'm planning moving them into larger pots to help them grow after finishing the harvest. My goal for next year is gathering even more fruit.

It seems to me that some gardeners aim for fruit, for vegetables. Others aim for flowers, for beauty. Some must aim for both.
I'm so happy for you!! Hope they taste great :)
I also like gardening @yumiyumayume, and I would like to ask you a question...what pests that affect plants are most common in Japan? Thank you very much for your time.
I'm also an avid gardener. Right now, though, I'm growing monarch caterpillars! I have a milkweed plant, which is all monarch caterpillars eat, and it's full of them at the moment. It's amazing to watch them grow from minuscule little things that are barely visible into magnificent striped caterpillars with antennae on both ends of their bodies that give the illusion of having two heads. Unfortunately, they won't build cocoons in the milkweed; once they eat their fill and are big enough, they'll wander off and build them in hidden places. But I feel so honored to be hosting them during their "formative weeks" π
Hi, @MusiqueGraeme . Thank you for the comment. I love growing both veggies and flowers.
Nice to meet you, @kaeun . The thought that I've taken care of them makes the taste the best!
Hi, @druida . In my garden's case, grasshoppers and caterpillars are the enemies. I hope this comment won't offend Uly. How about yours?
No offense! My caterpillars only eat one plant and I bought it for them)))
Hi, @CocoPop . I hope you will be able to see they'll turn into butterflies. I think what you're doing is really cool.
@yumiyumayume I do too! I'll have to look around the garden and see if I can find their cocoons!)))
@CocoPop . It sounds exciting! I'm looking forward to hearing good news from you.
In my case, @yumiyumayume, I have to deal with two difficult situations: powdery mildew and woodlouse. In gardening, everything has a fragile balance.
@druida . Ah, powdery mildew is a tough one. I have to protect my roses from it too.
