When this season comes around, I make ginger syrup every year. I'm a big fan of ginger. I once considered growing it myself, but after researching, I found it too complicated and gave it up. So, I buy organic ones instead.
This year, I bought organic ginger again and made some syrup. I love spices too and usually add cardamom, cinnamon sticks and cloves. However, this year I added some red peppers with them. I've heard that the red peppers make ginger syrup spicy. After making the syrup, I tried to taste it with some carbonated water. You can guess what's it is. It's home-made ginger ale.
I don't throw away the gingers with some spices after squeezing out the syrup. I keep them to use in my home-made ginger pound-cake. When I make ginger syrup, I can make two things: one is my home-made ginger ale, and the other one is my home-made ginger pound-cake. That's why I love making ginger syrup.

I think “homemade” is one word without a hyphen in between.
@JGComm Thank you for correcting the title too. Homemade, pound cake・・・ English is so complicated, lol.
Sounds so delicious! I love ginger but never tried ginger ale. Now I also want to try and make homemade ginger syrup.
Hi, @Matan. Thank you for the comment. Yes, I highly recommend it to you!
