Sometimes I practice my English listening by watching Ted Talk. The talks are usually very interesting. For many times, I have actually forgotten my main purpose of practicing and just enjoyed watching them as talk shows, with subtitles on, of course. I can’t quite understand the content if I don’t look at the subtitles. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Do you think I should turn off the subtitles when watching?
I hope someday I will be able to understand them without subtitles.

I think you can watch one twice: one time with its subtitles, and the other time without them.
Thank you for your suggestion, jmsocean! I’ll try it :)
Good luck! :)
I think you can use the amount you need subtitles to understand as a gauge of your improvement in the language.
Thank you for your suggestion, Graeme!
