Today, I found a very interesting manga and bought all four volumes on my kindle and read them all at once. It hasn't been translated, but it's a hot topic and may be translated at some point. The manga is called, "しあわせは食べて寝て待て (Good Things Come to Those Who Eat, Sleep, and Wait)" by Tori Mizunagi.
The protagonist is a 38-year-old woman with a chronic illness, living in an apartment block and working for a small company. She and the people around her are the people you meet every day. The dialogue is all natural, so I recommend it for learning Japanese.
I started to add some images of the manga, but didn't want to post any spoilers. The characters and events depicted in this work are very commonplace and at the same time surprising. In other words, it's life itself.
There's a lot of talk about hot springs and food, which is also nice for me. I always go to the same hot spring in my neighborhood, but this manga made me want to go to some other hot springs far from home once in a while.
Very well written!
I love hot springs, too. I miss them a lot! I also liked the public bath near my parents house, too. Nice thing or funny thing about the public bath is that there’s almost always someone who strikes up a conversation with me and share their stories.
@CocoPop Thank you so much!
@Maruko Yes, hot springs are the best! You have probably a vibe that is easy to talk to :)
