Hi Feral,
The language you're writing in looks very nice! What is it?
Did you know that you can add different languages to your profile? That way, you can assign the language you're writing in to your text 😊
I guess Journaly doesn't know about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherokee_language.
You could write to hello@journaly.com and ask them to add Cherokee to the list :)
Thanks, y’all. :) Before I wrote this post, I did write to ask Journaly to add Cherokee and Powhatan (the two languages I’m studying), as well as other Native languages of America. I also asked about how else Robin can use his platforms to promote learning endangered languages in the language learning community. But I haven’t yet heard back. I hope the additions can be made, because I’d like to promote this site to my fellow Cherokee and Powhatan learners.
I hope you get an answer soon! From what I heard I think that Robin is working on Journaly while also doing his main job, so I guess time could be rare at the moment...
Hi everyone! Thank you @Feral for this wonderful post and everyone who joined in the comments. Apologies for the delay, as @flauschtrud mentioned, I recently started a new job and have been going through some very big life transitions, so response times have been slower than usual but I'm still trying my best and things are picking back up now! I just added both Cherokee and Powhatan to the database and updated this post to be categorized as Cherokee. @Feral if you could please help me verify that this is the correct way to write the Cherokee language, and if there's an endonym/native word for Powhatan, that would be wonderful. Thanks always everyone for being the best part of Journaly!
Hey, big thanks to you @Robin , for this and for your service to the language community. I hope your transitions go smoothly. I emailed you back, but in case anyone is wondering - ᏣᎳᎩ is “Cherokee”, and ᏣᎳᎩ ᎦᏬᏂᎯᏍᏗ is like “Cherokee Language”. Powhatan is still most often using English letters when typed, sadly, as it is a recently revitalized language that is still catching up to technology. But using syllabics, Powhatan could be written like ᐳᕹᑌᓐ . Thanks again, @Robin and everyone!
