Do you remember yourself being teenagers? What did you think of the 20-year-olds? I reсall we went to the dance hall and the girls over 20 seemed us too old to go dancing. We discussed that and believed we were right. (I hope times have changed.) It’s funny but we thought that there is a lot of time between 16-years and 20-years.
When I was 20 I thought that people of forty are old. Surely, now I don’t think so. When I think about my age, I understand that my youth is far away. 56 is almost old age. Though we don’t know how long we will live. If I die in 90 and won’t have Alzheimer's it means I have more than 30 years of not so active as in my youth, but conscious life. My stepfather (he is 94 now) often says me that I’m young. It makes me laugh. But maybe he is right from his 94 as we have 37 year between us and maybe I have many years ahead.
Life is so amazing, interesting, in spite of all our trials and tribulations, and short. There are so many interesting things, and so much to learn. Why not if I'm still alive?
Hi :) I absolutely agree! I'll go with the cliché and say age is just a number. I don't buy into the age frames or thresholds. As you said: Why not if I'm still alive?
My sister once told me: look, if before the medicine people lived about 30-40 years old, it means that naturally people in their thirties are already old. Thus, we (humans) now are old for the most time of our lives! That's an interesting thought ;)

Thank you thomas. Joanna, I didn't mean that age is just a number (I'd like you were right), i meant life is fantastic in any age in spite of everything. musialmi, I've read about this fact too. I agree, it's very interesting.
Sure , I understand. Just wanted to add another angle from my side :)
Iren, Journaly doesn't allow us to correct the titles of posts, but I wanted to suggest "What are your thoughts on age?"
Just a quick note: "the age" (with an article) is typically synonymous to the era, the epoch: "It was the golden age of science", "I wish I lived in a simpler age". When discussing how old people, etc. are we often use "my age", "his age", etc., or just "age" (without an article) as @CocoPop mentioned above when talking in abstract. That's what generally applies, however -- alas -- not always. For example: "my dog has entered an age when diseases are more likely" (i.e. here "an age" = "a stage of her life")
Agreed! Except I would change the sample sentence a bit: "My dog has entered the/AN age WHERE DISEASES are more likely (to strike/set in)." I would actually generalize this further and say WHERE DISEASE IS more likely...
@CocoPop, I agree that your refinement makes it better. Thanks
