한국어 배우는 동안 한국 교육 제도를 이해하기 어렵고 있어요. 조사보다 어렵은 것 같아요. 한국 교육 제도하고 미국 교육 제도 비슷한 것 같아요. 하지만 영국 교육 제도에 중학교가 없어요. 저는 미국 영화 때문에 중학교밖에 몰라요. 보통 5살부터 12살까지 우리 초등학교 다녀요. 그리고 12살부터 16살까지 우리 고등학교 다녀요. 16살부터 18까지 년당 학년들이 선택적이에요. 저는 4살부터 11살은 초등학교에 다니고 11살부터 16살까지 고등학교에 다녔어요. 그래서 12년 합계 학교 다녔어요. 지금은 중학교 이해하지 못하지만 알고 싶어요. 그리고 한국 시험을 잘 몰라요. 저는 우리 시험은 다른 것 같기 때문에 영국에서는 대학에 들어가기 위해 몇 주에 걸쳐 많은 시험을 보지만, 한국에서는 하루인 것 같아요. 한국 사람들도 영국의 교육 시스템을 이해하지 못하지요?

While learning Korean, understanding the education system has been one of the hardest parts. Possibly even more so than particles *even if I still get when to use 은/는/이/가/을/를 muddled*. I know there are some similarities between the Korean and American systems, but both are very different from our system here. Middle school is something we only know about because of American movies, we don’t have anything like it. In our system kids usually go to Primary school from age 5 to age 12, and our High school (also called Secondary school) normally starts at aged 12 until 16. However there are two optional years you can do and you apply to them one year at a time at the end of the school year which can raise leaving age to 18. In my case though I went to Primary from 4-11, and High school 11-16 so I did 11 years in the mandatory school system, and 1 optional year. Honestly, I’m not sure how Middle school works, and part of that is I don’t fully understand the systems around it. I think the exams we have are different too, in the UK we take many tests over weeks at the end of High school to get into university, or even into the next year of high school and from what I've read in Korea it's one single day and only for university. Do Korean’s also get confused when reading about the UK's education systems?
