I think we should divide arguments between real life and virtual life in internet.
An argument in real life is very useful action, because it helps to figure out the truth among the different opinions. However, these argues should not be too emotional. You should listen to your opponent an understand his point of view.
On the other side, no way to finish an argument in internet because the more reasons you provide - the more emotional this argue becomes. I agree, in this particular case the best way to win is not to start one.
Finally, I would like to mention absolutely endless kind of argues. I mean sports fans. Moreover, sometimes there rivalries are based on religion. The best example is classic Scottish derby between FC Celtic and FC Rangers.
For sure, the arguments about religion and football are absolutely mindless.
Nice job!
It's funny that you say that the best way to win an argument on the internet is not to start one. In terms of gossip and sports, this might be true, but I also think that the internet provides a lot of good ways to add explanations by experts and reliable resources to our arguments. And it also depends on the platform you're using. There needs to be a reasonable community for this to work.
