Cheescake and recipes

There's no practice C1 essay today. I wanted to write something yesterday. Due to work I wasn't able to. I stayed in the office until 7.30 pm. Usually, I leave around 3.30 pm as I arrive at work around 7 am. But yesterday there was a talk and I had to / wanted to stay behind.

Afterwards, I met up with my husband and we had an outside dinner. This is a special treat for both of us as our kids are with my parents right now. Thank you autumn holidays!

As I stayed late yesterday and I applied to work from home today, I didn't have the tedious commute and had some energy left to finally FINALLY try the recipe I've been itching to try.

It's a simple recipe but you have to use a blow torch for it. Is that the right word? In the past I was scared to use the torch but I'm getting older and bolder (hahahah!). After forgetting to order the butane gas along the torch, I animated my husband to go to a "Baumarkt" on Tuesday to buy it there.

The recipe is for a "Crème brulée Cheesecake". It was fun to torch it and I think after melting the sugar on three of them, I'll finish the other three later :)

So, I finally was able to make the cake - better cakes. Because I'm into tiny, dainty looking sweets. That's why I like Asian sweets as well. They're small and look cute. It's an easy recipe and nothing to brag about, but it's my way to de-stress. Do you like cheesecake?

To be honest, I like German cheesecake more than the one with cream cheese. It's missing the zing/tang. I like Japanese cheesecake as well because it's quite fluffy. I haven't tried baking it yet but it's on my list of recipes I want to try.

In the end, I think I'll always go for the traditional German cheesecake - without the raisins or mandarins from a can. But I'm always open to suggestions. So, if you happen to have a traditional or a really good cheesecake recipe, let me know.

How often did I write "cheesecake" in this post? It's under ten times but still often enough.
