Several typhoons have finally brought fall to Japan. The temperatures in the mornings and evenings have become chilly, and the sunlight feels much softer. People started looking forward to how they'll spend their time in this pleasant weather.
In Japan, we have some expressions for how we spend our time in the fall, such as 芸術の秋 (Geijyutu no Aki), 読書の秋 (Dokusyo no Aki), and 食欲の秋 (Syokuyoku no Aki). 芸術の秋means enjoying art. 読書の秋means spending time for reading books, and 食欲の秋 means enjoying time for good food.
I've been looking forward to art exhibitions because during this time museums tend to hold more interesting exhibitions. I'm going to an art exhibit after visiting my parents today.
How about you? What do you like to do in the fall?

This post reminded me of my favorite poem: 秋の田の かりほの庵の 苫をあらみ わが衣手は 露にぬれつつ
Thank you as always. That's one of my favorite 百人一首!My hometown relates to これやこの知るも知らぬも別れては、知るも知らぬも逢坂の関。My current place relates to 三島江の 入江の薦を かりにこそ 我をば君は 思ひたりけり from 万葉集(not 百人一首)I like thinking these poems connect where I live.
I really love 読書の秋 (did I copy it right?)
@OMI Enjoy reading books!
Fall is also the season for getting your garden ready for winter!
@Shauna Oh, I forgot that! Yes, I have to prepare for winter.
