Last year, I bought some blue colors which look under-glaze after firing, and I wanted to make a piece to use them. I designed this piece to use the color combination of blue and red.

I drew a bird on the lid and did a different bird inside. As usual, I took step-by-step photos of the process, so I'd like to share them with you here.

I wanted to create this box looking like a Kakiemon or Imari style, so I left some areas white.

I used white enamel on the cherry blossoms to make the piece a bit unique.

The diameter is about 7.5 centimeters.

I'm satisfied with the result. The lid looks very cute. I added a few gold lines here and there, which gives the piece a quiet and elegant feel.

I like the combination of red and deep blue, so I'm planning to use these colors more often in my future pieces.
