Every year, I make some cuttings from my roses. The best seasons for taking cuttings are winter and early summer. I've tried to make some cuttings in early June several times, but only two or three out of ten survived, while I succeeded six to seven in winter. As thinking of productivity, it's much better for me to make them in winter. Going through some experiences, I make them only in winter now.
This winter, I made nine cuttings from one of my roses.
In the spring, seven to eight of them started producing leaves.
One day in June, I took all of them out ot the pot and replanted each of them into smaller pots.
When I pulled them out, each of them had developed enough roots to survive, which made me feel very happy.
This year, six out of nine cuttings survived. I kept taking good care of them.
The following month, they had grown enough to give my friends.
I picked the two larger ones and gave them to two of my friends. My other friends are looking forward to receiving the cuttings too, so eventually they'll find new homes.
Every time I give my cuttings, I feel like I'm sending my babies off into the world. When my friends show me some pictures their roses blooming, it definitely makes my day. I truly hope all of them will grow well and bloom beautifully next year to make all my friends who have received them feel happy.
