Today, I'd like to share a Japanese movie called Tokyo Story with you. It's considered one of the greatest Japanese movies ever made. A friend of mine from the US recommended me to watch it.
If you're a Japanese learner or you like Japan or Japanese culture, I think you'll enjoy this. Watching this movie helps you understand a part of Japan, especially how Japan looked like in the 1950s. It's black and white but it has a very nostalgic atmosphere. I can easily image how my parents' younger days might have been like.

I love Tokyo Story! We recently watched it for my film club. One thing that we thought was interesting was that all of the establishing shots for Onomichi were beautiful landscapes and all the establishing shots of Tokyo were of factories. I think that it helps to contrast the director's vision of showing how the "progress" of modernization meant that some things were being lost.
