Kävelin tyhjän torin poikki, ohitin kirkon, joka on hakattu kallioon, ja katselin ikkunoista sisään valkoisiin toimistotiloihin, joissa työpäivä yhä jatkui: näin ihmisiä isojen näyttöjen äärellä, en tiedä mitä he tekivät, ehkä piirsivät. I walked across the empty square, went past the church that was carved in the rock, and looked through the windows into the white offices where the workday was still going on: I saw people in front of big monitors, I don't know what they were doing, probably drawing. There are many architect offices on those corners. Life where we compete, bid and make something new all the time is totally strange to me. I stood at the traffic lights for a long time, sensing people stopping behind me. Somebody touched my calf with the tire of a bicycle. It was early April, each day was longer than the previous one, and I felt as if I had already smelled new grass, but I don't know whether that was possible. Anyway, over the city was something wet, something muddy, something that reminded me of things penetrating up from the earth.
