Psychotherapy

I took a pause from reading textbooks because I experienced an urgent need to dedicate some time to a question that has been bothering me lately. My father recommended me a book that can provide me with information related to the question that bothers me. So I decided to focus on reading this book. While reading the book, I came across an interesting thought said by one of the greatest humans ever to live on our planet. This is Darwin. He said once in his book that evolutionary history of the brain and of instincts can give us an understanding of psychology. I've noticed that psychology in Russia lags behind the scientific progress and therefore lacks the scientific understanding of the human nature. The psychology in Russia is rather rolling towards pseudoscience and obscurantism. Unfortunately, it can be said not only about psychology but also about other areas. And it is really worrying and sad. Since I have developed a deep interest in science, I have always been fascinated by the interrelatedness of the evolutionary history of the brain, instincts and behaviour. The deeper I dig in these areas, the more interesting it becomes and the greater psychotherapeutic effect it has on me. So, it seems to me that it is rather difficult to get help in Russia if you experience psychological problems, but maybe it is even more valuable to become your own psychotherapist by avoiding dependence on other people and their own irrationalities and by sculpting your identity on the solid scientific foundation.
