This is not the exact quote, but the recent research in neuroscience area has provided the results that suit this quote perfectly. According to the studies, our brain takes a decision a few seconds before we decide consciously to do something. So, our body defines us. However, we, Homo Sapiens, have the opportunity to acquire a considerable amount of the knowledge and to understand our body on the basis of this knowledge. Through understanding the body processes, we can get a cognitive and informational freedom, probably the only freedom that we can have. As Spinoza said“ Not to cry, not to laugh but to understand”.
