Homegrown Chamomile

by

gardening

I've been busy harvesting strawberries and chamomiles every morning. Last year, my chamomile harvest was poor, but the plants dropped seeds, so some sprouts have started growing. I didn't sow seeds, so when I saw the sprouts, I was very excited.

They grew very quickly, and a couple of days ago, they finally started blooming. Chamomile is one of my favorite herbs, and I especially love its apple-ish aroma. After picking the flowers, I dry them to make tea. Although we can buy chamomile tea at stores, I definitely prefer my homegrown ones. Mine has a much strong scent and tastes much better.

This morning I picked some strawberries and chamomile flowers again and dried them. It's steady work, but I know they'll make wonderful tea! I just can't wait.
