Ihminen syntyy tähän maailmaan alastomana. Tyhjin käsin hän myös kuolee. Mitään ei voi kuoltuaan viedä mukanaan, ei yhtään kallisarvoista esinettä, ei mitään mihin on kiintynyt. Kuinka kauheasti me keräämme kaikenlaista tavaraa kotiimme. Me ostamme, perimme ja saamme lahjaksi. Paljon siitä tuntuu suunnattoman tärkeältä, rakkaalta ja tarpeelliselta, paljon on täysin tarpeetonta. Ihmisen on opittava luopumaan. Täytyihän hänen luopua avioliitostakin, puolisosta jota oli rakastanut. Tilalle on tullut paljon hyvää. Kun kuolee, on jätettävä jäähyväiset myös kaikille rakkailleen.

Human beings are born into this world, naked. They also die with empty hands. They can't take anything with them after they die, not any valuable thing at all, not anything they're attached to. How terribly we collect all kinds of items into our homes. We buy, inherit, and receive as a gift, something. Many of them seem enormously important, cherished and essential, many are completely unnecessary. Human beings have to learn to let go. After all, they had to let go of even their marriages, their spouses they had loved. Much good has come to its place. When they die, they have to say goodbye to all their loved ones.
