That was precious, of course. I understood more about the world because of Toni; he kept me up to date, preventing me from getting lost in the corridors of the library in the end. Without Toni, I would've been covered in dust completely and turned into a mummy long ago. I'd been able to give him much; it was best to know that I was sharing something good I'd got. I provided him with so many beers and lunches when Toni couldn't afford even a bag of macaroni. Toni listened to my talk about feudalism quite actually with interest, and that was not just because he would get some course done. A friend is a gift; take it and hold on.
