Helping requires good relations and trust, and thanks to that, it's possible for really good friends, whether they're neighbors, relatives or teachers, to have a positive impact on the lives of fellow human beings who are in trouble, but even then, the fundamental conditions for influencing are understanding, empathy and acceptance. They mean listening, supporting and walking next to the other in hard times, but not making decisions and setting goals on behalf of them.
