Taitava elokuvaohjaaja lunastaa näyttelijän luottamuksen. Silloin hän voi sanoa, että ole vain sellainen kuin olet. Esimerkiksi Inari Niemi sanoi minulle niin, kun ohjasi Joulumaa-elokuvaa, ja se toimi, koska pystyin luottamaan häneen ohjaajana. Jos tuon ohjeen antaa ilman luottamusta, tilanne on liian pelottava ja epämiellyttävä. Suomen hauskinta miestä tehtäessä kesällä 2018 opin paljon nuoremmilta näyttelijöiltä. Opin kun katsoin, miten Paavo Kinnunen teki roolinsa. Tajusin, että hän on ihan oikeasti pihalla, hänelle puettiin roolivaatteet, mutta kuvauksissakin hän antautui olemaan ihan pihalla eikä yrittänyt näytellä. Tajusin, että minunkin pitää vain suostua ja luottaa siihen, että minut on valittu rooliin hyvästä syystä.

I realized that I also needed to just accept and trust that I'd been chosen for the role for a good reason.
