Päättäväisesti hän aloitti järven kiertämisen tavoitteensa mukaisesti. Tyynessä vesipinnassa näkyi yksittäisiä kalan pistoja siellä täällä. Oli täysin hiljaista. Yksinäisyys ja pelko alkoivat hiipiä mieleen. Miehet olivat lähteneet paluumatkalle ja hän tajusi olevansa takalinjassa aivan yksin. Jos hänelle nyt sattuisi jotain, hän joutuisi ehkä viettämään koko yön yksin järven rannalla. Kukaan ei olisi pitämässä hänestä huolta, eikä kukaan tulisi hakemaan häntä ennen seuraavaa päivää. Ja moukka Mika oli ottanut sääskisuojapullonsakin takaisin. Tuskin kukaan vähemmän moukka olisi tehnyt niin.

She decisively started to circle the lake according to her goal. In the calm surface of the water, sporadic bites of a fish were seen here and there. It was totally silent. Loneliness and fear started to creep into the mind. The men had set off on their return journey, and she realized that she was completely alone in the rear line. If something now happened to her, she would probably have to spend the whole night alone on the shore of the lake. Nobody would be taking care of her, and nobody would come to pick her up until the following day. And the ignorant Mika had also taken his mosquito protective bottle back. Anybody less ignorant would hardly have done that.
