Olisin ollut valmis lähtemään mihin tahansa, vaikka en ollut koskaan oppinut lähtemään matkalle mihinkään. Tai ainakaan päättämään mitä otan mukaan. Minulla oli aina kasa vaatteita, jotka toin käyttämättöminä takaisin, ja kirjojakin, vaikka koskaan en matkoilla jaksanut tai edes ehtinyt lukea. Matkalaukkuni painoi aina vähintään sen kaksikymmentä kiloa, mikä lentokoneissakin oli rajana. Ja lennoilla semmoinen vielä meni, kun tempaisi laukun taksista lähtöselvitykseen, ja palatessa sama toisinpäin.

I would've been ready to leave anywhere although I'd never learned to go on a trip anywhere. Or at least to decide what to take with me. I always had a pile of clothes I brought back unused, and books although I never had energy or even time to read them on the trip. My suitcase always weighed at least 20 kilos, which was the limit even on airplanes. And on flights, such a thing still happened when you pulled the bag from the taxi to check in, and the same the other way around when you returned.
