If you aren't good at doing something, that's what you have to work on. To understand your weaknesses, it's important to know about yourself well. I've known my weaknesses very well, and I've been working on them for years. One of my weaknesses is shortage of patience.
When I paint objects, I'm pretty much good at keeping patience. However, once I paint geometric patterns, I'm not, so I started practicing geometric patterns using aka-e to improve my weakness. Aka-e requires very sharp, thin lines, and it's very difficult. My lines look thick and sometimes dry. I need to keep the exact same consistency for all lines. I have to think a lot of things when I move my brush, such as how much paint to load on the brush, the right consistency of the paint, how much pressure to apply, how to move my brush, and more.
This is my first practice piece, and I've already finished the second one. Now, I'm working on the third piece. Even so, I don't think I've been improving. I don't know how many pieces I'll need to practice, but I'd love to master this technique!

Amazing work! To me, it doesn't look like a practise piece at all, it already looks very professional! I also love your will to keep improving the points you find weak, that's very important
Great work on both the beautiful painting, and the English journal entry!
@Renby Thank you for the compliment, even though it's not great. You encouraged me a lot!
@cheemii Thank you for reading, correcting and commenting!
