En osannut kuntoutumisen alkuvaiheessa ajatella mieleen tai luonteeseen liittyviä asioita lainkaan ja kuntouduin silti. Yhdessä työhaastattelussa minua pyydettiin sanomaan jokin huono puoli itsessäni. Sanoin, että olen turhan mustavalkoinen ihminen. Vaikka näköjään tiedostin asian jo silloin, en ajatellut, että sille pitäisi tehdä jotain. Ajattelin, että olen sellainen ja sillä hyvä. Mutta kun katson taaksepäin, ajatustapani, reagointitapani ja asenteeni muuttuivat kuntoutumisen ohessa. Se oli hidas prosessi, koska minulla ei ollut sitä varten käytössäni muita työvälineitä kysymyksiä, joita esitin siinä vaiheessa itselleni usein.

In the early stage of recovery, I couldn't think about things related to the mind or character at all, and yet I've recovered. In one job interview, I was requested to say something bad about myself. I said that I was an unnecessarily black-and-white person. Although I was apparently aware of the issue even then, I didn't think that I should do something about it. I thought that I was such a person and that was fine for me. But looking back, my way of thinking and reacting and my attitude changed along with the recovery. It was a slow process because I didn't have other tools at my disposal for it, but questions which I often put to myself at that stage.
